Marrakech Holidays in December: Events & Things to Do

If you’re planning a Marrakech break in December you’ve picked a good time. You can expect plenty of sunshine (up to 7 hours per day) and agreeably warmer daytime temperatures than are usual in Northern Europe at this time of year (get a forecast). A number of international events are taking place during the month.

Most notable amongst them is the International Film Festival from late November till 7th December when visitors have the chance to rub shoulders with movie personalities from around the world, in one of several venues including the city’s main square where a number of films are shown on a giant screen.

Those into electronic music will enjoy the 2nd Edition of the All-In “Musicookers” Festival scheduled to run from 12th to 15th December. An annual event dedicated to traditional Moroccan music with techno, this is not merely a musical event but a unique experience combining art, music and performance.

From 12th to 13th December, the city will also be hosting the International Cyber Security, Welfare and Digital Forensics Conference. With some 50 exhibitors expected as well as up to 1,000 delegates, this conference offers business visitors a diversity of presentations by international researchers and other keynote speakers.

Then, of course, there is New Year’s Eve, celebrated by Les Borjs de la Kasbah with a sumptuous gala dinner including music, various cabaret acts and a disco into the wee small hours.
