NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS - MOROCCAN STYLE!

Increasing numbers of people are choosing to get away on a short break at Christmas and/or New Year – and there are plenty of good reasons for doing so, not least for the prospect of swapping invariably miserable northern European weather for something altogether more inviting. Not surprising, therefore, that Morocco, with its 200+ hours of sunshine per month in December and January, is high on the list of destinations for celebrating the festive season.

Les Borjs de la Kasbah has organised a Moroccan-flavoured New Year’s Eve party every year since opening in 2007 and, according to previous visitors who have chosen to celebrate the occasion with us, it seems to tick quite a few boxes. Here’s a brief summary of what’s in store this year:

the programme of entertainment begins by the pool where aperitifs and appetisers are served and continues throughout the evening; performers include local folk troupes, a fire-eater, magician, classical Arabic music and, of course, belly dancers. A six-course buffet dinner is served in a festively decorated marquee erected over the hotel’s main patio where the entertainment continues until the small hours.
