In the Kasbah quarter of the ancient Marrakech medina, easily accessible by taxi, minibus and horse-drawn calèche and only yards from the Royal Palace, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a charming boutique hotel in Marrakech meticulously created by craftsmen over a period of four years from a complex of six small town houses (dars) and one riad.
On entering this haven of tranquillity you will be struck by the restful atmosphere of contemporary refinement and arabo-moorish charm,
the whole contrasting sharply with the frenetic activity of the thronged medina beyond its walls.
Amazing riad - the photos don’t do it justice. Within the medina but on the edge so away from the noise and chaos. The property is stunning and the rooms are extremely clean. The staff were wonderful - super helpful and welcoming. An absolutely gem and we wished we could have stayed longer. Hotel highlights Luxury, Romantic, Quiet, Great value
This was a wonderful stay at Les Borjs de la Kasbah. Everything was A1 from breakfast, lovely mint tea in the afternoon, delicious dinners in the courtyard and a fabulous range of treatments at the spa. The owners were regularly seen and were very amiable and efficient. The breakfasts were lovely with a great omelette station and lots of delicious fruits, cheeses, breads and everything you could want. We had room 305, overlooking the lovely courtyard, which was simply beautiful. We were unable to get a suite as they were fully booked but the standard was very high with all the accommodation. Our deluxe double was also amazing. A special mention must go to the lovely staff at reception Nora, Imane and Hamza. They were so kind and attentive and made our stay just perfect. I definitely recommend this Riad if you visit Marrakech.
Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a truly special place that immediately makes you feel at home. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and friendliness were unmistakable. Nora and Tom are the perfect hosts - attentive, genuine, and always keen to ensure that every detail is just right. What really stood out for us was the incredible team. Every member of staff went above and beyond to create a welcoming, personal atmosphere. We felt like we were being looked after by people who genuinely care. The whole experience was relaxed and full of thoughtful touches that made it unforgettable. I would highly recommend this beautiful riad to anyone looking for comfort and charm. Special mention must be made of the young lady in the Hammam (I'm sorry I've forgotten your name!). You were wonderful!
Wij hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in dit Riad. Ontzettend gastvriendelijk. Ledereen wil je graag helpen. Kamers, zwembad, spa en gezamenlijke ruimtes prachtig en ingericht. Heel lekker ontbijt én alles is zo schoon. Wij voelden ons ontzettend welkom. Met 10 min in de taxi of 25 minuten lopen zit je in centrum van de medina. Prima uitvalsbasis voor een trip naar Marrakech.
Yet another lovely stay at the Borjs de la Kasbah! We haven't visited for a few years (life got in the way!) and it was so wonderful to be back with the fabulous owners and staff at Les Borjs. We travelled with a couple of friends who really wanted to visit Marrakech but were a little nervous, and they loved it as well. From the beautiful rooms, the great food, the excellent pool and Spa areas and above all, the incredible staff, it was the perfect break. Can highly recommend the trips and guides organised by the Borjs staff, and every aspect of the holiday was smooth and well organised. We won't be leaving it so long before our next visit! Thank you Tom, Nora and staff at Les Borjs de la Kasbah.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Riad. Incredibly hospitable. Everyone is eager to help. The rooms, pool, spa, and common areas are beautiful and well-decorated. The breakfast was delicious, and everything is so clean. We felt incredibly welcome. You can reach the center of the medina in 10 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes on foot. It is an excellent base for a trip to Marrakech.
This was my second trip back to Marrakesh staying in this wonderful Riad Hotel, the first time for my husband. It really is home from home & I was delighted to have stayed here again Hotel was as wonderful as last time with friendly staff & excellent service, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice. Had some lunches by the pool which were just delicious Nothing is too much trouble I would definitely stay here again & have recommended this hotel to many people Wish I had booked to stay longer!
The epitome of quiet luxury, this exquisite, family-run hotel provides discreet yet attentive service, beautiful rooms, and delicious food. Its prime location is ideal for exploring the city, while the property itself remains a perfect sanctuary to relax and recharge.
Our first visit to Marrakech and we couldn’t have chosen a better riad. Excellent, friendly staff, lovely clean, calm communal areas. We had a premium room which was spacious, nicely decorated and had very comfortable beds. The restaurant was excellent, you were spoilt for choice at breakfast and was a fantastic way to start each day. In the evening you could choose from a menu du jour or from the à la carte menu. All our meals were excellent and very well presented. The pool area was most welcome after spending the day sightseeing. Well done Nora, Tom and team.
We had a wonderful stay at BK. Such a beautiful oasis in Marrakesh; calm, relaxing, quiet with authentic Moroccan architecture and decor with a real attention to detail. Food was delicious with a fine range of wines and beers. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. The directors Tom and wife Nora were absolutely delightful. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, the best I’ve stayed at in a while - a jewel in Morocco.
A home from home with all the boxes ticked from an experienced but picky traveller. This place is genuinely brilliant. When we booked we were apprehensive about the location but, actually, it's in a great area and we felt crazy thinking it wasn't in a good location. Now we have stayed there we think it's in the best location. Still within the Medina, but far enough from the main hustle and bustle to be a good break from the busyness. But also we felt we were in more of an authentic part of the Medina without the tourist pull of the Souks etc. The hotel is super quiet too which is such a welcome break from the manic of the souks and busy streets of the Medina. I'm a very light sleeper and really fussy when it comes to what counts as 'quiet' for sleeping. I can attest to the fact it was really quiet for sleeping. No sounds of cars, motorbikes, shouting or anything. The rooms are lovely. We stayed in a suite and they were large, comfortable, had good heating/air con, good amenities and were tastefully decorated. I think, if anything, the photos on the website don't do the accommodation the justice they deserve. The rooms felt very clean and well appointed from a furnishings and linen perspective. I'd class this is a good hybrid between hotel and Riad, in a positive way. It felt very traditional and had the comforts to make you feel right at home. Better than anything I have mentioned above, are the staff. The staff at this property make it. Friendly faces, someone always making sure you're ok or whether you need anything. It felt like we were looked after from the moment we entered the front door to there moment we left. Nothing was too much effort and the service was 10/10.
We're a bit late in submitting this review but in truth there isn't much to add to what others have said. You really are in a little oasis away from the frenzy of the Marrakesh kasbah outside. We were in room 202 which was huge and well appointed (there was some sound from the kitchen below in the mornings but nothing too annoying). On arrival, our cases were taken to the room while we enjoyed complimentary mint tea. The breakfast every morning was superb and we ate at the hotel a few times which we can completely recommend (ask Tom for advice about the wines they serve - Moroccan wine was a great discovery for us). The pool was an added bonus with plenty of space/sunbeds and an opportunity to meet some of your fellow guests who on the whole were a very sociable bunch. Tom, Nora and all the wonderful staff are always on hand to help with any queries, organising taxis, excursions or anything you might need during your stay. Tom even made the effort to great us in our native Welsh during our stay - diolch Tom! Our stay at Les Borjs has made us consider returning to Morocco for future holidays and if they are in Marrakesh, this is definitely where we would stay. Just book - you will not regret it.
This was the best hotel I have ever been to. I have been to 4 and 5 star hotels but the Les Borjs de la Kasbah was fantastic. The place was beautiful and the staff were outstanding...all of the staff. Thank you once again Les Borjs de la Kasbah.
My wife and I have recently returned from a 1 week holiday in Marrakech staying at Les Borjs. The riad is owned by Tom and Nora, who have spent a considerable time getting it to the very high standard it is today. We were greeted at the desk and taken through to the central courtyard where we had our first mint tea and Moroccan pastries/biscuits. What a greeting! Our cases were taken up to our room whilst we were having our tea. This was just the beginning which just goes to show how good the hospitality is. The rest of our stay was just fantastic. Les Borjs was our oasis of calm from the frenetic and chaotic pace of the Medina. Tom and Nora, and all of the staff, from the cleaners to the front of house, were just so hospitable and provided us with so much information during our first stay in Marrakech. We would definitely recommend this riad so highly and if we were to visit Marrakech again we would have no hesitation in staying, provided Tom and Nora would have us back. Shukran
Absolutely perfect in every way! The property…its beauty…its location…the professionalism and warmth of the staff, right from the owners to the front-office, restaurant, housekeeping staff…you can’t find a single fault with anything, even if you tried!
I spent three wonderful nights at this charming and beautiful riad - and wished I could have stayed longer. This was my second visit to Marrakech but my first as a solo traveller - and I felt totally at ease as soon as I was greeted in the comfortable salon with fresh mint tea and pastries. Throughout my stay I was given the warmest welcome by lovely owners Tom and Nora and their fantastic team, from front of house superstars Khatija, Hamza and Jamal to culinary queen Meryam (whose breakfast pancakes are out of this world), not forgetting spa angel Fatija, who worked her magic so well I kept nearly falling asleep during my treatments! My (premium double) room was just perfect, with authentic decor, super-comfy bed and amenities that elevated the experience, including a bath and separate shower, bathrobes and luxury Les Sens de Marrakech products in the huge bathroom, TV with international channels, aircon and minibar/fridge. The central courtyard below was a peaceful and atmospheric setting for a delicious dinner on my first evening (there is an indoor bar and restaurant too.) A short walk into another open courtyard leads to the heated pool, which is a great size for a riad in the Medina and the perfect temperature to be enjoyed year round. I enjoyed relaxing in the afternoon sun, with snacks, lunch and drinks available to order via a handy call button. To be able to cool off in the pool was a bonus during a hot weekend. The location in the Kasbah area in the south of the medina is perfectly placed, on a quiet street, away from the craziness of the souks and Djema el-Fna square (although it's walkable to all the main sights within 15-20 mins). This part of the medina has a very friendly, local, village atmosphere, with some great places to eat and drink close by (check out Odette on the rooftop of La Sultana hotel for a high-end cocktail treat, and Zeitoun Cafe, both a few minutes' walk away for incredible mocktails and great food). I felt very safe walking back alone late at night, with lots of people out and about and little shops open. On my last morning I took a stroll down an unexplored street and encountered ad-hoc fruit and veg stalls opening for business, without another tourist in sight. I thoroughly recommend a stay at Les Borjs, whether visiting with friends, family, as a couple or alone. Tom, Nora and team offer the very best in hospitality, combining the authentic experience of staying in a riad with superb facilities at incredibly reasonable rates. (Book directly for the best deals - and I say that as a seasoned Expedia points-gatherer!) I guarantee that you will feel like an honoured guest and leave thoroughly relaxed, refreshed and with treasured memories. I shall most definitely return!
I spent a week in Marrakech this October and was lucky to stay in the wonderful Les Borjs de la Kasbah. We arrived late at night and were warmly welcomed and served the traditional mint tea and pastries. Les Borjs is an oasis of calm and tranquillity and all the senses are happy: from the sound of the little fountain and birdsong (some very boisterous little finches brought a smile to everyone's face), to the fragrance of the orange blossom and rose permeating the air. Everywhere I looked I saw something beautiful: the hotel was so well thought out, particularly the rooms which were beautiful and exceptionally clean. I have to mention the beautiful library – this was by far my favourite room. Food was also fantastic and I regret I didn’t take advantage of the cooking course run by hotel chef! But most of all, my stay was made exceptionally pleasant by wonderful people: Nora and Tom are such warm and welcoming hosts and the staff are just amazing: attentive and really helpful, especially advising us on the trips and activities which the hotel organises brilliantly. This was my first visit to Marrakech, but definitely not last, and I will definitely be returning to this special hotel.
All the 5* reviews are spot-on. This is a very special place. You get the warmest welcome from Tom & Nora, and all the staff are friendly and dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible. This was our first visit to Marrakech - and to Morocco - but it won't be the last. The people were so friendly and helpful. We felt perfectly safe at all times, and the guides were excellent too. We even had a great day in the rain! The location of the hotel was perfect for us - a peaceful, cool retreat, but not too far to walk into the 'action' when you want to. Our room was well-appointed and we slept like logs the whole time. The food is also very good here - especially Miriam's breakfast omelettes!
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, especially the Restaurant staff who were very accommodating to our special requests. The rooms beautifully furnished. The pool attendant was a star; he went above and beyond to help my wife in and out of the swimming pool. Thoroughly recommended. Can't wait to go there again.
Beautiful Riad, just on the outskirts of the Medina, easy walk to the main square, Royal Palace, places to eat etc. The couple (Tom and Nora) who run the riad could not have been more helpful, from restaurant ideas, to helping my daughter whose tummy was not the best after sampling some local drinks at a streetfood market. The BK rooms are large and very comfortable, the pool area is fantastic to unwind in at after visiting the bustling Medina and the breakfast was the best we had for our entire stay. The children even got to have Nutella with their pancakes and marmite on toast, a really lovely touch, as well as the more traditional Moroccan breakfast and eggs made to order. Would love to go back there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
My 3 friends and I booked a trip to Marrakesh as a birthday adventure. Our stay at les Borjs de la Kasbah was perfection. The facilities and beauty of it made us want to spend more time there than exploring the delights of Marrakesh !😃 The rooms were beautiful, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, food was excellent and the pool and courtyard were like oases of peace and tranquillity. The location was perfect too. Easy access to wherever u needed to be , but behind the walls of Les Borjs there was peace and quiet away from the hustle of the centre. Couldn’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else while visiting Marrakesh
This is such a beautiful place to stay. Comfortable, clean, well equipped rooms. Fabulous staff who are always around to help if needed. The owners are around regularly and always take time to chat to each guest. Beautiful facilities such as the lovely pool area and the courtyard for drinks and meals. Good breakfast each day. Great spa treatment. Quiet location at the edge of the Kasbah near to 2 gates so very easy for taxis to pick up and drop off. Easy 15 minutes’ walk to Saadian Tombs, Baihia Palace, Tinsmiths Square. We had such a good time here, we didn’t want to leave! Thank you to everyone at BK.
This is a charming boutique hotel (several dars and a riad in one) with large rooms, a pool, courtyards with bougainvillea and several rooms off the where you could take your coffee, drinks or curl up with a book. There is also a spa where you can have a massage or hamman. The service is excellent…..Tom and Nora, who run the hotel, will do everything to ensure your stay is comfortable while Hamzah and the front desk team are always there to make sure you have everything you need for your day ahead. The hotel is situated 20 minutes on foot from main square and within walking distance of all attractions. Highly, highly recommend!!
Well, we had read numerous reviews when comparing central Marrakesh Riads for our one week visit including some for Les Borjs de la Kasbah seemingly too good to be true…but let me tell you, it’s all true! This was truly our home from home. The Riad is peaceful enough to be able to enjoy a quiet poolside day but equally vibrant enough to enjoy the company of others at dinner. Our room was a perfect blend of the traditional with the modern. We ate here for three days with their perfect authentic menu. Most of the delights of Marrakesh are merely a walk away. The staff are perfectly attentive with Nora and Tom the perfect hosts with a special mention for Hamza and Mounia. Oh, and I received a lovely, unexpected surprise for my birthday…so sweet. We are already looking at our next dates.
