In the Kasbah quarter of the ancient Marrakech medina, easily accessible by taxi, minibus and horse-drawn calèche and only yards from the Royal Palace, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a charming boutique hotel in Marrakech meticulously created by craftsmen over a period of four years from a complex of six small town houses (dars) and one riad.
On entering this haven of tranquillity you will be struck by the restful atmosphere of contemporary refinement and arabo-moorish charm,
the whole contrasting sharply with the frenetic activity of the thronged medina beyond its walls.
Prachtige uitvalsbasis als je een trip naar Marrakesh wilt doen. Rustige binnentuin met heel vriendelijke bediening. De kamers zijn zeer proper en het ontbijt is zeer lekker! Een echte aanrader!
There are so many riads in Marrakech, some claiming to be family friendly others to be luxurious but the Borjs de la Kasbah combines both and a welcoming atmosphere with the friendliest staff ever in a superb location. Les Borjs has its own Spa and Hammam offering one of the best massages we ever had and its own pool which we really enjoyed in the afternoons after our tours when it was getting very hot in the city. We only booked Bed and Breakfast because we originally intended to go out in the evenings for different restaurants, but then stayed for the dinner as the Chef is excellent, the waiters super friendly and everything is home made. Delicious. The Riad is situated in the south of the Kasbah in a quiet location next to the royal palace. It is accessible by car so you don't have to carry your luggage through the streets. They offer excursions with drivers at fair prices. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Djema al Fna through a safe and unspoiled residential quarter. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and are already planning to come back as soon as possible. Thank you to Tom, Nora and all the staff for a great holiday!
Vielen Dank!
I don't give out 5 stars as they should be earned. This place deserves six stars. From the excellent friendly welcome everything is great. The staff are so friendly, the facilities great. Nora and Tom are such good hosts. The spa is amazing. The food is excellent quality and everything is well priced. This is my second visit here and would not visit anywhere else. Recommended to our friends and they loved it. Do not hesitate.
This Riad is simply perfect, not least the friendly welcome by the staff and attentive service. We had a very relaxing stay in this riad oasis of peace with its great charm and many beautiful details designed with love. Everything is very clean: room service and bedlinen and towels included for the pool! The cuisine of the restaurant / breakfast is of a very high standard and offers a real treat! Everything in the medina is within walking distance! If we ever come back to Marrakech we will definitely book here again. We can honestly and absolutely recommend this riad!
From the moment you enter the hotel and smell the orange blossom in the air you are transported from the dusty chaos outside into a true oasis of calm. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and we were very pleased with our room overlooking the main courtyard. The food was excellent - we were half board and ate very well, lots of choices at breakfast and 3 courses for dinner. Peaceful and relaxing - nice seating areas to chill in around the hotel and sun beds next to the beautifully clean pool. Lovely spa where we had a fabulous traditional Hammam - really special. About a 20 minute walk to the main centre and only 10 minutes or so to the airport. All the staff are wonderful - welcoming and helpful - thank you to all the staff for your kindness. Would definitely recommend and I would stay here again in a heartbeat 💗
Great riad. We were greeted very warmly with a welcome drink right at the beginning, then were shown the map of the city and how to get around it. Good breakfast, great French cuisine (especially appreciated after long trips 😉). Pool and and bedroom both very clean. Beautiful courtyard to relax in. Staff super helpful, attentive and friendly.
Beautifully presented, very helpful hosts and staff, impeccable service. Just can't fault this lovely Riad. Well located for walking to the square. Lovely (although small) pool. Absolutely spotless. Would go again.
We liked the location right at the entrance of the medina (from the Palais Royal end of the Kasbah), not a lot of traffic but close to everything. Norah was the sweetest host we have had - she really spoiled my 9 yr old. The breakfast was superb, from omelettes to traditional baked goodies. We had dinner twice and it was also great. Every detail in the hotel is beautiful, the central patio, the rooms and the pool gets 10 stars. Staff, who were very kind and helpful , helped us arrange tours as well.
I can't give enough accolades to this riad and its staff. I loved the whole experience and look forward to a return visit in the near future. Every single one of the staff was accommodating, friendly and ever helpful. The public spaces, including the courtyard, library, and pool area were perfect and I loved my room with a little private courtyard. The bar was fab and the restaurant was lovely, with wonderful breakfasts and excellent evening fare. In my opinion, this is THE place to book for your stay in Marrakech.
The Riad is beautiful. Owners very nice and friendly, easy to communicate with. The room was spacious. Bathroom awesome and spacious as well with separate shower and soaker tub great water pressure and temp stayed consistent (plenty of hot water) The beds were supper comfy. Great Wi-fi. The employees are so super nice and helpful. Very clean! It's probably one of the nicest places I've stayed and I travel a lot! The Kasbah area feels very safe, no-one approached us unless they were being helpful. I liked everything here although there is no coffee maker/kettle if that is important to you.
My first visit to this Boutique Hotel was in 2009 and my most recent was last week. In-between I must have stayed over 20 times, hence the title of this current review. Before the pandemic I would bring 15 people each year to a Wellness Breathwork Retreat I led in the Conference space at Les Borjs, as well as visiting for leisure, so I am familiar with what is on offer. Every time I visit, it looks pristine with regular refurbishments. Tom & Nora do not rest on their laurels ( and laurels in terms of professional accolades are aplenty ) they constantly aim for top notch upgrading of rooms and public areas. I hadn't been back since 2019, kept away by health issues and the pandemic, but last week felt like BK was in constant refresh and observation mode, exactly how a high end boutique hotel like this continues to succeed. I particularly loved the new seating in courtyards, repainted plant pots and cushions with the Nora touch of welcome. Nothing lacked attention. Fresh as a daisy. This includes superb, long standing staff, always on top of things, welcoming; helpful too at Reception, always attentive to the smallest request. We ate in the hotel some nights, highly recommended, fine dining at ease with impeccable service. Plus being greeted by the familiar face of Sharif at Marrakech Airport and being swiftly taken to the kasbah in 15 mins - yes, truly 'coming home' to high end hospitality. Having been back so many times, and recommended so many friends to try Les Borjs ( I took 2 this visit and they were bowled over first day! ) we are already planning our return. So 5 Stars all round to Les Borjs de la Kasbah.
My first visit to Marrakech and what an amazing time it was! My stay at BK (Les Borjs de la Kasbah) was simply outstanding. Beautiful hotel staffed by such friendly, helpful and genuinely kind people. It's a unique magical place to stay....the interior is a holiday in itself! Pure luxury! Look forward to another stay. Thank you!
After a warm welcome with tea and cookies we were shown to our room that was fantastic, with rose leaves on the bed and floor and much more. Host/Manager Nora explained us a lot about Marrakech and surroundings and was more than helpful when I experienced a medical issue. We had dinner twice in the riad and the food, like breakfast in the morning, was really delicious. I just can write in superlatives about this riad.
This hotel is a major reason we keep coming back to Marrakech! The attention to detail is not only reflected in the beautiful rooms, courtyards, and lounges of the hotel, but also the superb staff who go above and beyond to ensure the most memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the Moroccan-style New Years Eve bash (which we have attended before), and found the entertainment and food to be excellent. The highlight was all of the guests dancing in the main courtyard as the clock struck midnight. We also recommend taking advantage of the spa offerings, especially the famous hammam! The various day trips organized by the hotel are also fantastic if you want to escape the chaos of Marrakech. We loved our trip to the Ourika Valley! All in all, it is always a treat coming to Les Borjs De La Kasbah and we could not recommend it enough to anyone seeking a luxury stay within walking distance to all major attractions.
If you're wanting a warm welcome from wonderful staff and helpful and considerate owners... this is the place. If you're wanting to stay in a gentle, peaceful oasis within the real, vibrant, colourful Marrakech... this is the place. Beautiful hotel, perfect service, comfortable rooms, calm and pleasant atmosphere. They have a gorgeous bijou spa, a pool, a restaurant with lovely food, a courtyard to relax in at any time under the orange trees (where you will probably be accompanied by their lovely house buntings!). You can walk 5 minutes from the quiet location into the busy bustle you came to see - good coffee houses and some great little rooftop restaurants are tucked away nearby, the main square is 15-20 minutes meander, but here you can come back and feel you're away from it all - the sound of the city seems to slip away completely the minute you step through the doors. We felt completely at home here, and are planning to return. Seriously, don't miss this boutique hotel - it is charming, well situated and faultlessly managed.
The staff provided amazing service and went above and beyond to make our stay special. They were friendly, attentive and gave us information about the local area. The front desk staff also helped us, especially with a local taxi driver who overcharged us for our journey from the airport. Nadia helped me organise a surprise anniversary dinner for my fiancee. She did a brilliant job of creating a romantic private setting for us to enjoy a wonderful dinner.
There are hotels you choose for their amenities, the design, how good the restaurant is or because of their location. And then there are hotels that give you all of the above and give you something else that is priceless: they provide an unforgettable stay because of how terrific and client-centric their team is in making you feel welcomed and cared for while you're there and do everything they can to make your experience really great. That's what you get at Les Borjs de la Kasbah from the moment you arrive to the minute you leave. Thank you Tom, Nora & everyone who made our time delightful. With all the best, Filipe, Teresa, Teresinha & Manuel.
The owners, Tom and Nora, went above and beyond to make sure I had the greatest possible stay. I was first of all treated to an upgraded room as travel restrictions had unfortunately taken a toll on occupancy at the time of my visit. Then I was amazed by Nora's ability to remember all my preferences for the delicious breakfast prepared every morning with fresh ingredients - from sweet to salty, cold to hot : a feast fit for a king every morning. Tom gave me precious advice ranging from personal safety to food selection and shopping. I very much enjoyed our chats in the evening after a day of visiting Marrakech when he'd always ask if my stay was going smoothly. The bedroom was carefully decorated and filled with thoughtful amenities. I can say the same of the riad's facilities. The common spaces are arranged and decorated in a way that makes them so cosy and relaxing as to make you think you're in the kind of oriental palace you see in video games or movies. Makes you forget that you're in the heart of the Kasbah, only a 15 min walk away from the Jama El Fna place. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Exceptionally gracious and personal service from every member of the staff is what I will remember most about my stay at Les Borjs. They made our group feel welcome on arrival and taken care of while there. This was my favorite place to stay during a two week tour of Morocco. If in Marrakech, you should experience Les Borjs hospitality as well as its beautiful rooms. It is a special place.
This is our 3rd stay at Les Borjs, which speaks for itself. The hotel is a medium sized traditional Riad in the Medina, perfect for a couple, family or small group, within walking distance of the Main Square and Souks . Once inside there is peace and tranquility and the pool and main patio courtyard are perfect for relaxing and chilling after a hectic day sightseeing. The spa treatments were also relaxing and reasonably priced. We also ate at the hotel, not only breakfast and some lunches but also on two evenings when we enjoyed super local dishes ( international also available ) with great service. The Moroccan Evening with dancers and music was especially fun. The rooms are traditionally furnished and each one is different. The Owners, Tom and Noria, and all the staff are fantastic and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable and stress free; they will organise trips, transfers and taxis on request. We would certainly hope to return again next year
This is a beautiful, quiet Riad, situated a short stroll from all the sights, sounds and smells of downtown Marrakech. All members of staff were incredibly helpful, kind and friendly, the breakfast was excellent and the swimming pool cool and relaxing to come back to after a day in the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms were beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. Definitely to be recommended!
We were lucky enough to stay here for a week and what a truly special place it is. First things first: the owners, Tom and Nora, are two of the nicest, most accommodating people you could meet - and their team are equally welcoming - friendly, professional and warm - lovely people who make this place significantly more than just a fabulous Riad. And if you want trips organised or taxis to and from the airport - no problem at all. My teenage son had a premium room. My wife and I took a suite. The rooms are spotlessly clean, large, tastefully in character. Beds are supremely comfortable. Breakfast is wonderful and full of local produce (as well as Yorkshire tea!). The restaurant which sprawls across the courtyard of this oasis of calm serves excellent bar food, local higher end offerings and homely comforts. The pool is heated and a perfect antidote to the madness of the Kasbah and Marrakech itself. After the wonderful sensory overload from the old town, sitting with a beer by the pool is perfect. The spa and hammam are also wonderful. The Riad is very much at the boutique end of accommodations. Homely and classy in equal measures. We couldn’t recommend it enough. A very special find.
If you are looking for a place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place to be! This beautiful riad gave us an instant feeling of home with an excellent hotel service and a personal touch. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable; the staff took care of everything. We received a very warm welcome with some Moroccan tea while the owner gave us some recommendations about sightseeing Marrakech. The hotel also offers various activities and trips, which we found very useful. We booked several and were very satisfied. The hotel is a beautiful place with a warm Moroccan feeling. The city of Marrakech was very busy so the hotel was the perfect place to relax. The owners are very friendly and warm people, they make sure you are enjoying your stay in Morocco. The hotel staff were also well very friendly and offered an excellent service! The food was delicious and there was a wide choice from the breakfast buffet every morning. Everything was very clean and the room was perfect for us. We couldn't have made a better choice for our stay!
