In the Kasbah quarter of the ancient Marrakech medina, easily accessible by taxi, minibus and horse-drawn calèche and only yards from the Royal Palace, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a charming boutique hotel in Marrakech meticulously created by craftsmen over a period of four years from a complex of six small town houses (dars) and one riad.
On entering this haven of tranquillity you will be struck by the restful atmosphere of contemporary refinement and arabo-moorish charm,
the whole contrasting sharply with the frenetic activity of the thronged medina beyond its walls.
An absolutely wonderful experience in a beautiful hotel staffed by cheerful, kind and welcoming people. We couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary (2 years late, thanks covid!). This hotel represents the very best of the kasbah, Marrakech and Morocco.
As soon as we arrived and were warmly greeted by the management team we knew we were in the right place! This visit was actually a rebooking from an unfortunate cancellation at start of Covid. We were determined to go to the same riadh as it looked so good, so the booking took a bit of time to reorganise as it is quite popular. The riadh is a tranquil oasis just a short walk from the crazy “wonderfulness” of old town Marrakech with rooms that are beautifully finished. There are two courtyards (one with a lovely pool with plenty of room to relax, and a snack bar), lots of well furnished public rooms and spaces for chilling out, a delightful bar and a gorgeous dining room. The food, from delicious breakfasts to plentiful snacks/lunches through the day to excellent local dishes on the dinner menus at night, are delicious and cooked with great attention to the flavours of Morocco. Compliments to all the chefs and kitchen staff. Last, but by no means least, is the service and attention offered by all the staff….truly nothing was a bother to them. In addition they were all great fun and a credit to the place. Finally a special mention to Nora and Tom, son and daughter in law of the owners, for their kindness and, dare I say, friendship during our week there….you made our trip special!
Beautiful, comfortable accommodation, lovely private courtyards, wonderful friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast - one of the best omelettes we've ever had! Enjoyed a fabulous massage, and relaxation by the lovely pool.
It seemed to us as if we were entering our own personal paradise. The welcome was very warm and every staff member at the hotel starting by Nora and Tom made our stay perfekt. The food is excellent und the rooms are so cosy and furnished with great taste.
Stunning riad, fab location, great food and lovely pool, - but it’s the owners who make it so very special! A family of four adults, we stayed in 3 different places, all similarly priced, during our trip to Morocco and Les Borjs was head and shoulders above the other two. The property is stunning. The rooms catered for everything and breakfasts were delicious but what really stands out are the owners and their team. Everyone, from the moment we arrived, couldn’t do enough for us. We loved the place so much we cancelled our 3rd hotel after just one night and returned! Cannot recommend highly enough - book it!
After a long hot day of being a typical Marrakech tourist, crossing roads in the crazy traffic, returning to Les Borjs de la Kasbah was like coming home to a haven of calm and relaxation. Tom and Nora were the most charming and friendly hosts ever and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful with cheery smiles. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious and the evening meals we had were of a high standard. We had an excellent afternoon in their spa as well. Rooms were tastefully decorated and kept very clean each day. We also enjoyed two excursions organised by this Riad. On our return to the UK we have already recommended this place to friends and family. "Top- notch"!
Even with an earthquake during my stay, I can’t fault this lovely riad for their customer service. The staff are so helpful and made my stay so enjoyable. The owners, Tom and Nora, go out of their way to ensure all their hotel guests are enjoying their time at Les Borjs. This is the second time I have visited this year and am already looking at dates to visit again next year.
We arrived at Les Borjs de la Kasbah on Sept 6th to a wonderful welcome from the concierge. Throughout the stay the staff were exceptionally helpful and waited on our every need. On Day 3, the 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco. Everyone from the riad was guided to the open square nearby and was provided with pillows and blankets to make the few hours we stayed outside as comfortable as possible. The owners and staff were wonderful throughout that entire experience and continued to be wonderful in the days thereafter when we were back at our riad. There is a book in the reading rooms on how the riad was created. It is no surprise after reading this book that no damage was done to the riad throughout the earthquake. It was very re-assuring for the rest of our stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for making a very daunting experience as comfortable as possible.
Prachtige uitvalsbasis als je een trip naar Marrakesh wilt doen. Rustige binnentuin met heel vriendelijke bediening. De kamers zijn zeer proper en het ontbijt is zeer lekker! Een echte aanrader!
There are so many riads in Marrakech, some claiming to be family friendly others to be luxurious but the Borjs de la Kasbah combines both and a welcoming atmosphere with the friendliest staff ever in a superb location. Les Borjs has its own Spa and Hammam offering one of the best massages we ever had and its own pool which we really enjoyed in the afternoons after our tours when it was getting very hot in the city. We only booked Bed and Breakfast because we originally intended to go out in the evenings for different restaurants, but then stayed for the dinner as the Chef is excellent, the waiters super friendly and everything is home made. Delicious. The Riad is situated in the south of the Kasbah in a quiet location next to the royal palace. It is accessible by car so you don't have to carry your luggage through the streets. They offer excursions with drivers at fair prices. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Djema al Fna through a safe and unspoiled residential quarter. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and are already planning to come back as soon as possible. Thank you to Tom, Nora and all the staff for a great holiday!
Vielen Dank!
I don't give out 5 stars as they should be earned. This place deserves six stars. From the excellent friendly welcome everything is great. The staff are so friendly, the facilities great. Nora and Tom are such good hosts. The spa is amazing. The food is excellent quality and everything is well priced. This is my second visit here and would not visit anywhere else. Recommended to our friends and they loved it. Do not hesitate.
This Riad is simply perfect, not least the friendly welcome by the staff and attentive service. We had a very relaxing stay in this riad oasis of peace with its great charm and many beautiful details designed with love. Everything is very clean: room service and bedlinen and towels included for the pool! The cuisine of the restaurant / breakfast is of a very high standard and offers a real treat! Everything in the medina is within walking distance! If we ever come back to Marrakech we will definitely book here again. We can honestly and absolutely recommend this riad!
From the moment you enter the hotel and smell the orange blossom in the air you are transported from the dusty chaos outside into a true oasis of calm. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and we were very pleased with our room overlooking the main courtyard. The food was excellent - we were half board and ate very well, lots of choices at breakfast and 3 courses for dinner. Peaceful and relaxing - nice seating areas to chill in around the hotel and sun beds next to the beautifully clean pool. Lovely spa where we had a fabulous traditional Hammam - really special. About a 20 minute walk to the main centre and only 10 minutes or so to the airport. All the staff are wonderful - welcoming and helpful - thank you to all the staff for your kindness. Would definitely recommend and I would stay here again in a heartbeat 💗
Great riad. We were greeted very warmly with a welcome drink right at the beginning, then were shown the map of the city and how to get around it. Good breakfast, great French cuisine (especially appreciated after long trips 😉). Pool and and bedroom both very clean. Beautiful courtyard to relax in. Staff super helpful, attentive and friendly.
Beautifully presented, very helpful hosts and staff, impeccable service. Just can't fault this lovely Riad. Well located for walking to the square. Lovely (although small) pool. Absolutely spotless. Would go again.
We liked the location right at the entrance of the medina (from the Palais Royal end of the Kasbah), not a lot of traffic but close to everything. Norah was the sweetest host we have had - she really spoiled my 9 yr old. The breakfast was superb, from omelettes to traditional baked goodies. We had dinner twice and it was also great. Every detail in the hotel is beautiful, the central patio, the rooms and the pool gets 10 stars. Staff, who were very kind and helpful , helped us arrange tours as well.
I can't give enough accolades to this riad and its staff. I loved the whole experience and look forward to a return visit in the near future. Every single one of the staff was accommodating, friendly and ever helpful. The public spaces, including the courtyard, library, and pool area were perfect and I loved my room with a little private courtyard. The bar was fab and the restaurant was lovely, with wonderful breakfasts and excellent evening fare. In my opinion, this is THE place to book for your stay in Marrakech.
The Riad is beautiful. Owners very nice and friendly, easy to communicate with. The room was spacious. Bathroom awesome and spacious as well with separate shower and soaker tub great water pressure and temp stayed consistent (plenty of hot water) The beds were supper comfy. Great Wi-fi. The employees are so super nice and helpful. Very clean! It's probably one of the nicest places I've stayed and I travel a lot! The Kasbah area feels very safe, no-one approached us unless they were being helpful. I liked everything here although there is no coffee maker/kettle if that is important to you.
My first visit to this Boutique Hotel was in 2009 and my most recent was last week. In-between I must have stayed over 20 times, hence the title of this current review. Before the pandemic I would bring 15 people each year to a Wellness Breathwork Retreat I led in the Conference space at Les Borjs, as well as visiting for leisure, so I am familiar with what is on offer. Every time I visit, it looks pristine with regular refurbishments. Tom & Nora do not rest on their laurels ( and laurels in terms of professional accolades are aplenty ) they constantly aim for top notch upgrading of rooms and public areas. I hadn't been back since 2019, kept away by health issues and the pandemic, but last week felt like BK was in constant refresh and observation mode, exactly how a high end boutique hotel like this continues to succeed. I particularly loved the new seating in courtyards, repainted plant pots and cushions with the Nora touch of welcome. Nothing lacked attention. Fresh as a daisy. This includes superb, long standing staff, always on top of things, welcoming; helpful too at Reception, always attentive to the smallest request. We ate in the hotel some nights, highly recommended, fine dining at ease with impeccable service. Plus being greeted by the familiar face of Sharif at Marrakech Airport and being swiftly taken to the kasbah in 15 mins - yes, truly 'coming home' to high end hospitality. Having been back so many times, and recommended so many friends to try Les Borjs ( I took 2 this visit and they were bowled over first day! ) we are already planning our return. So 5 Stars all round to Les Borjs de la Kasbah.
My first visit to Marrakech and what an amazing time it was! My stay at BK (Les Borjs de la Kasbah) was simply outstanding. Beautiful hotel staffed by such friendly, helpful and genuinely kind people. It's a unique magical place to stay....the interior is a holiday in itself! Pure luxury! Look forward to another stay. Thank you!
After a warm welcome with tea and cookies we were shown to our room that was fantastic, with rose leaves on the bed and floor and much more. Host/Manager Nora explained us a lot about Marrakech and surroundings and was more than helpful when I experienced a medical issue. We had dinner twice in the riad and the food, like breakfast in the morning, was really delicious. I just can write in superlatives about this riad.
This hotel is a major reason we keep coming back to Marrakech! The attention to detail is not only reflected in the beautiful rooms, courtyards, and lounges of the hotel, but also the superb staff who go above and beyond to ensure the most memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the Moroccan-style New Years Eve bash (which we have attended before), and found the entertainment and food to be excellent. The highlight was all of the guests dancing in the main courtyard as the clock struck midnight. We also recommend taking advantage of the spa offerings, especially the famous hammam! The various day trips organized by the hotel are also fantastic if you want to escape the chaos of Marrakech. We loved our trip to the Ourika Valley! All in all, it is always a treat coming to Les Borjs De La Kasbah and we could not recommend it enough to anyone seeking a luxury stay within walking distance to all major attractions.
If you're wanting a warm welcome from wonderful staff and helpful and considerate owners... this is the place. If you're wanting to stay in a gentle, peaceful oasis within the real, vibrant, colourful Marrakech... this is the place. Beautiful hotel, perfect service, comfortable rooms, calm and pleasant atmosphere. They have a gorgeous bijou spa, a pool, a restaurant with lovely food, a courtyard to relax in at any time under the orange trees (where you will probably be accompanied by their lovely house buntings!). You can walk 5 minutes from the quiet location into the busy bustle you came to see - good coffee houses and some great little rooftop restaurants are tucked away nearby, the main square is 15-20 minutes meander, but here you can come back and feel you're away from it all - the sound of the city seems to slip away completely the minute you step through the doors. We felt completely at home here, and are planning to return. Seriously, don't miss this boutique hotel - it is charming, well situated and faultlessly managed.
